JVE Reading Night Thursday, March 7th 6-7 pm. Bring the family for a fun evening of reading activities. A free dinner will be provided by the PTO. Each student can win a book and will be entered into a drawing for a $25 dollar Scholastic gift card.
Reading Week March 4th- 7th. Mixed up Monday wear mixed up clothing backwards, inside out, or wacky. Top hat tuesday. Wear your favorite hat! Wacky wednesday. Wear your wackiest socks! Theodore thursday dress like your favorite dr suess character or in your spirit gear! Also spirit day and dollar day sales.

Halloween at John V. Evans.Students can wear their Halloween Costumes to school on Tuesday Oct 31st with the following conditions: NO MASKS, NO FACE PAINT, NO PROPS THAT CAN BE USED AS WEAPONS, OR PROPS THAT ARE LOOK-A-LIKE WEAPONS! Kindergarten will have their parade at 11 am in the gym and 3 pm in the cafeteria. 1-3 grade will celebrate in their rooms. 4-6 grade will have their party/dance in the gym at the end of the day.  Spanish Translation: Los estudiantes pueden usar sus disfraces de Halloween en la escuela el martes 31 de octubre con las siguientes condiciones: ¡SIN MÁSCARAS, SIN PINTURA FACIAL, SIN ACCESORIOS QUE PUEDAN SER UTILIZADOS COMO ARMAS, NI ACCESORIOS QUE PAREZCAN ARMAS! Kindergarten tendrá su desfile a las 11 am en el gimnasio y a las 3 pm en la cafetería. Los grados 1-3 celebrarán en sus salones. Los grados 4-6 tendrán su fiesta/baile en el gimnasio al final del día.
Red Ribbon Week October 23rd through 26th. Monday: Wear Red (we are red-y to be drug free), Tuesday: Wear a sports team's jersey or gym clothes (we're training our minds to be great by staying drug free), Wed: Wear your favorite outfit/color/something that makes you feel great (We're kind to our minds by staying drug free), Thursday: Career day/dress up as what you want to be (Our minds help make us who we want to be). Spanish translation:Lunes: viste de rojo (estamos rojos para estar libres de drogas), martes: usa una camiseta de un equipo deportivo o ropa de gimnasia (estamos entrenando nuestras mentes para ser geniales al permanecer libres de drogas), miércoles: usa tu ropa/color favorito /algo que te haga sentir genial (Somos amables con nuestra mente al mantenernos libres de drogas), jueves: día de carrera/vístete como quieres ser (Nuestras mentes nos ayudan a convertirnos en quienes queremos ser)
