Auto Service Technology I

(Automotive Technology level I): One period, year, two credits. (Ti0201) Prerequiste: Algebra I (Or currently enrolled in algebra I), 10th grade only.

This is the first in a series of three courses offered to student who wish to pursue a career in automotive service or a related field. This course will teach safety and the fundamentals of the automotive repair industry. Students will use the latest in technology to master the skills necessary for success in the higher level courses and in preparation for industry placement. Membership and participation in Skills USA, student organization, is encouraged.

Students are required to provide personal protective clothing (coveralls) and clear safety glasses. Career Technical college credit is available.

Auto Service Technology II

(Automotive Technology Level II): YEAR,TWO PERIODS, FOUR CREDITS. (TI0202)
PREREQUISITE: Auto Service Technology I. 11th grade only.

The student will learn basic automotive systems with an emphasis on brakes, steering, suspension, electrical and electronics, and engine performance. Membership and participation in Skills USA, a student organization, is encouraged. Students are required to provide personal protective clothing (coveralls) and clear safety glasses. Career Technical college credit is available.

Auto Service Tech III

(Automotive Technology Level III): YEAR, TWO PERIODS, FOUR CREDITS. (TI0203)
PREREQUISTE: Auto service Technology II and teacher recommendation.

The student will learn advanced automotive systems with in-depth, hands-on training in the laboratory. Additional training will include the use of the latest electronic along with the operation of Hunter four-wheel alignment and tire balance machines. Membership and participation in Skills USA, a student organization, is encouraged. Students are required to provide personal protective clothing (coveralls) and clear safety glasses. Career Technical college credit is available.
