2026-2027 Declo El. Goals

This year, as a school, we have set the following goals:

1- At least 75% of all students, Kindergarten through 5th grade will be proficient on the AMIRA testing by the end of the year.

This goal represents a simple mile-marker on the journey to 100% proficiency. Creating yearly goals is a battle between two beliefs: "All children can be proficient in reading," and "All children learn at their pace and capacity." What this means for Declo EL. is that we strive, labor, and educate with the belief that all children will be on level. They might not get there at the same time, but they will improve and learn and eventually be on level.

2- We will create a loving, academically rich, and safe school environment to positively influence our attendance to achieve 97% attendance throughout the year.

We are going to celebrate the great success weekly by highlighting the best attendance by class. Every week the upper 3-5 and the lower K-2 will compete respectively for the G.O.A.T trophy. During morning announcements on Mondays, the best attended classes will be announced and they will have our GOAT trophy for the week.

Mr. Craner and I will also allow the students to pick our Halloween Costumes if they make their attendance goal for the first quarter of the year.

So, "Remember," please encourage/ make your kiddos attend regularly!

Routines and Expectations

As our new school year gets underway, I wanted to take the opportunity to share with you all our student and parent expectations and routines.

1-Drop off time for all students is between 7:30 and 8:00. When you come and bring us your beautiful and brightest, please do so safely. All students need to be dropped off on the sidewalk or accompanied through the parking lot by an adult.

2- Starting Tuesday of next week, (9/8/26) Kindergarteners along with the rest of the student population will be directed to either eat breakfast in the lunchroom or to go outside to enjoy recess with their fellow classmates. When the bell rings at 7:55, their teachers will be bringing them inside.

3- Remember, if you are dropping off a PM kinder student before 12:00, they are invited to go outside to lunch recess. I need to reserve a duty free lunch for my Kindergarten teachers. So, it is best not to have them here too early, but if it happens direct them to head outside to recess.

4- This is a simple one but is often times overlooked. If you ever have a concern or need having to do with your student, please contact your students teacher. They are wanting to hear from you. Often times problems that arise can be solved almost effortlessly. However, if parents don't make us aware, small things turn into big things. We are here and we are wanting to help!

5- As need and opportunity arises, parents come on campus for a variety of reasons. Thank you so much for your continued support and help when it comes to the education of your students. Remember, when you are on campus, you must first check in at the office. If it is your first time here, you will need your ID to check in. After that, you will need to check in and speak with our office staff before entering into any building or playground. Thank you for helping to keep our students safe.
