High school students from throughout Southern Idaho met at Burley High School on Friday, January 21st for the 2022 Regional BPA Conference hosted by the Burley High School BPA chapter. At the conference, students were competing for the opportunity to attend and compete at the state conference to be held in Boise in mid-March.
The Burley High School BPA chapter, under the direction of volunteer advisors Janet Cole and Cherise Gentry, had 25 students earn the right to advance to the state competition, with six qualifying in two or more events. BHS had 17 first-place finishes, nine second-place finishes, and six third-place finishes and was the top competing chapter.
The Declo High School chapter, under the direction of volunteer advisors Chancey Christiansen and Jennifer Murdock, had four students earn the right to advance to the state competition, with three qualifying in multiple events. DHS had four first-place finishes and three second-place finishes.
Raft River had two students place in Fundamental Word Processing; Allie Black second and Megan Campbell third.
