Burley HS Hires Football Coach



Burley High School has hired Dylan Corless as head football coach for the 2019-2020 school year. There were five total applicants and Corliss was selected by a panel of school staff and community members.

Corlesss was the defensive co-ordinator under outgoing head coach, Tony Cade, last season. His passion for football started in the fifth grade and over the years his coaching experience has taught him the importance of team comradery. He has coached since 2013 assisting at Minico High School, where he also graduated from high school.

His goals include: increased excitement in the community, competiveness in games and racking up more wins. Long term goals take in developing an expectation and culture of success. He loves working with players and “seeing the light in their eyes when they understand what they were taught and what they need to do.”

He is fully staffed at this point and looks forward to a summer of conditioning and camps leading up to the Bobcat’s first game against Jerome, August 30th.  Athletic Director, Randy Winn, looks at the coming season with positivity. “Dylan has made a five year plan to put BHS football back on the map. Dylan knows football and he is developing a program that will encourage the Burley community to get behind him. I am very excited to have him as our head coach.”

Corless is close to finishing his bachelor’s degree at ISU in education, which includes student teaching. He looks forward a to a full time career in education with an emphasis in K-12 PE. A Mini-Cassia native, Corless resides in Paul.
