Jeff Rasmussen was born and raised in Rupert, Idaho. He is the son of Blaine (deceased) and Lois Hunsaker Rasmussen. He married Amy Beck in 1989, and they are the parents of four children, Emily (Sheldon) Mallory, Camille (Spencer) Craft, Mariah Rasmussen, and Mason Rasmussen; three granddaughters, Hadley, McKinzley and Bexley Mallory; and one grandson, Jeffrey David “JD” Craft.
His musical instruction started at the age of four. He studied piano with Blonda Knight and LeNell Griffin, and piano and organ with Dr. Don Royster. While receiving his education in the Minidoka County School District, Jeff had the wonderful opportunity to be taught music under the direction of Doris Bruns, Val Harrison, and Alan Hale. These outstanding educators prepared him to continue his studies at Utah State University where he studied with Dr. James Drake, and, following a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he transferred to Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, where he had the distinct privilege of being tutored in organ performance under the direction of well-known organist, Dr. Parley Belnap. His secondary musical study was in choral performance and he was fortunate to be trained under Dr. Ronald Staheli.
Jeff has used his musical talents throughout his life in performing in Southern California, Utah, and Idaho.
He attended Cypress College in Cypress, California, and graduated from the School of Mortuary Science in 1985. Jeff has worked in the funeral industry for 40 years.
