Degrees and Certifications:

Bruce Thompson - Board Trustee, Zone 4

I have deep roots in Southern Idaho.  My grandparents lived in Malta where my father was born.  I was born and raised in Jerome where I went to school through my sophomore year.  I graduated from Bella Vista High School in Fair Oaks Ca.  After serving a mission in The New England States I was drafted and served in The Republic of South Vietnam as a Platoon Sergeant in the US Army Infantry.  I was wounded in action and subsequently was awarded the Purple Heart and the Silver Star.  Upon coming home I returned to my studies at California State University Sacramento and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. I worked my way through the university as a licensed general contractor for the state of California.  After finishing my degree I was privileged to work with special needs individuals as a rehabilitation manager. I also taught industrial arts courses at a local community college. After that I changed career and spent the next thirty plus years as a project manager and later a regional facilities manager for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I married Nancy after coming home from the military.  We have five children and 19 delightful grandchildren, four of them attend school in the Cassia County School District. I feel it a privilege to serve the district as a board member.
