Degrees and Certifications:
Dustin Heath is a native of Idaho. He grew up just outside of Blackfoot, and graduated from Snake River High School in 1999. He received his bachelor's degree from BYU-Idaho in 2006, and his master's degree from ISU in 2011. After earning his bachelor's degree, he and his wife moved to Idaho Falls where he spent the next 8 years as a 6th grade teacher. After being hired here at Mountain View, Mr. Heath moved to Rupert where he lives with his wife, Megann, and two daughters, Elaina (8) and Libby (7).
Mr. Heath loves sports, music, theater, and the outdoors. His favorite sports teams include the Utah Jazz, San Francisco 49ers, Boise State Broncos, and BYU Cougars. He participates in triathlons in the summer, and snowboards in the winter. He enjoys traveling, and has currently visited 47 out of our 50 states.
Mr. Heath enjoys being the principal at Mountain View. He can often be found playing with the students at recess, or eating lunch with them in the cafeteria. When he isn't accessing his inner-child on the playground, he enjoys being in the classrooms where he can observe the various teaching styles and hard work of the teachers.
Mr. Heath is impressed with the support the school receives from parents. He finds it inspiring to see parents who work through health problems, financial difficulties, and family issues and still put education as a high priority in their lives. Mr. Heath believes that this example is a great foundation for kids to build on, and he hopes it continues in the future.
