Mrs. Melanie Clark 5th grade

Mrs. Clark is in her ninth year of teaching at White Pine Elementary. Before becoming an educator Mrs. Clark was a bookkeeper for almost twenty years. She was raised in Declo and resides there with her family.  Outside of the classroom Mrs. Clark enjoys spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Together they enjoy camping trips, fishing, horseback riding, gardening, canning, rodeoing, and working together on projects.
Mrs. Clark knows first hand the challenges facing struggling students as her own children struggled through school, which is one of the many reasons she went back to school to become a teacher. She loves to see the interaction of her students as they learn and grow together. She has high expectations when it comes to classroom behavior and academic achievement.  Classroom rules are fairly simple, she refers to them as the 3 R's - Ready, Responsible, and Respectful. With these guidelines set in place student each student is ensured a safe and welcome learning environment. Her philosophy of learning is that each child is an individual, and each child learns differently. She strives to help students discover his or her individuality and work alongside them to maximize their learning potential. Mrs. Clark believes in hands-on experiences and creative learning. She is always sad to see a class go, but always excited to welcome a new class in and looks forward to a fun-filled educational year.
