About Mr. Wood
Tim Wood joined the staff at Burley High School in 2016 teaching instrumental music classes. Prior to 2016, Tim taught at Timberlake Schools for nine years. He previously taught in two districts in Washington and at Wenatchee Valley College where he developed a jazz program. He has been working with students of all ages sharing his love of music for over 20 years.
In the past, Tim has taught music making through many ensembles including bands, choirs, mariachi, jazz and guitar. He has also taught classes in digital audio recording and AP Music Theory. While at Timberlake, Tim was the Saxophone instructor at North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene and played with the NIC jazz ensemble, wind symphony and other bands locally as time allowed.
Prior to teaching, Tim and his family owned and operated an orchard and retail fruit sales operation in North Central Washington.
When not teaching or playing music, Tim can often be found skiing, reading or enjoying a little bit of time with his understanding wife, Connie.
