Mr. Merrill 4th grade
Hi there, my name is Mr. Merrill.
This year represents my tenth year at White Pine. Before settling down at White Pine, I spent two years as a "guest teacher" around the district, teaching both computers classes and regular elementary classes.
During my time at White Pine, I've worked as the Computer Teacher and ISAT Remediation Specialist, and now am teaching in a traditional classroom. As a computer teacher, I spent my time working to make technology more accessible for students and teachers, and helped to make it more a part of our everyday routine. In the classroom, my goal is to make sure that every student has the opportunity to become the best that they can be. In addition to teaching in the classroom, I can also be found out on the road teaching Driver Education for the school district.
When not teaching school, I'm a lifeguard trainer and a lifeguard. I spent 11 years teaching aquatics and youth leadership for the boy scouts before coming back to a local pool to teach swim lessons and classes here in town.
My favorite things to do with my free time are tracking down and rebuilding antiques, working on cars, and spending time in the outdoors. Camping, hiking, sailing, canoeing, rafting, and exploring ghost towns are all fantastic things to do with one's free time. Sometimes we don't really realize what a neat state we live in, because so many of us don't take the opportunity to go out and explore it.
