Ms. Thomas

I graduated from Idaho State University with my Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education. I have a Secondary teaching certificate for English Language Arts (ELA) and Physical Education. I currently teach 7th and 8th grade ELA and love it. I have taught all secondary grade levels of English and have decided there are bits and pieces to each that I love. My favorite type of reading is Historical Novels. I love history and what it has to offer, but a sappy love story or mystery during historical times makes me happy. As of right now, I am loving everything that has to do with Scotland. In part because an amazing author has taken me to those beautiful highlands and introduced me to a world I know very little about. Another historical time I enjoy reading about is World War II (WWII). It is an era I can never get enough of. I grew up listening to my grandmother speak of what she had to go through as a young teen and I want to know more. I want to know about the women serving as nurses, how the Jewish resistance rescued so many children from grasps of SS soldiers, and how different cultures played a major role in the success of the war. Besides reading in my spare time, I love to scrapbook. I guess I am creating my own history for my family to enjoy. I have a strong desire to travel the world and am trying to figure out how to make it happen. Europe, Great Britain, Australia, and all of the United States are just a few places I have on my bucket list.

    Write Good
Both the 7th and 8th graders will also begin writing more than just simple prompts. Each class will be working on developing their argumentative skills!!! Be ready parents for your students to start justifying their choices and giving you evidence.
