The librarians throughout the district have been working to add the newest and most requested titles to the Sora Reading App. New titles and additional copies of titles with many holds on them are added every Friday.
Here is a list of the 50 ebook and 20 audiobook titles added during the month of September.
Suicide Prevention and Awareness Month
Mini-Cassia PAuSe Suicide Prevention Awareness and Support and a group of Cassia High School seniors are working together to spread awareness of mental health and suicide prevention.
Two activities are currently being planned, a Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk and a Community event featuring speaker Gabe Salazar.
The Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk will be on Friday, September 17 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Riverside Park in Heyburn. Because every life matters! You are not alone! Come walk with us!
The Community Event will be on October 15 at 7:00 PM in the King Fine Arts Center. Gabe Salazar will be presenting "Born on accident, living on purpose, resiliency, hope and finding direction in a hopeless situation."
For more information, see the flyers below or contact PAuSe at email@example.com or www.pauseminicassia.com

See this flyer for instructions.
See your school librarian if you need help.
When Should I Stay Home?
The district leadership has created a graphic to help parents determine when they should consider keeping their children home and when they should consider having them return to school. Both English and Spanish versions of the charts are available for downloading below.
Suicide Prevention Resources
Call 911 for an immediate emergency
Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline
Contact the Hotline if you or someone you know is in crisis or emotional distress. The Hotline is available 24/7, TEXT support is available Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to Midnight, but CHAT support is currently unavailable due to COVID-19.
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
If you are thinking about suicide, are worried about a friend or loved one, or would like emotional support, the Lifeline network is available 24/7 across the United States. It is available to everyone, is free, and is confidential.
Student CONNECT Program
Connect is a resource to help address a broad range of personal difficulties that may be causing distress. This benefit is free to any Cassia student grades K-12.
Free Online Reading Materials
The closure of our school libraries has made it difficult for students to access enough books, specifically fiction. The District Librarian has created a blog to provide information on free online reading materials.
Access the blog here: https://www.cassiaschools.org/Page/6638
Idaho K-12 Report Card
The State Department of Education’s revamped K-12 Report Card is available online, providing a user-friendly way for parents, educators and others to access information about schools and districts throughout the state. Part of the state’s new accountability system, the new site provides information about multiple student performance indicators, offering context in addition to the data.
You can access the report card online at idahoschools.org.
Download Our New AppAccessing our website and connecting to our schools just got a WHOLE LOT EASIER. We have a NEW APP! Search for "Cassia School District" or "CSD 151" and start the download!
