  • Hispanic Youth Summit

    Cassia Students Receive Scholarships

    Four students from Raft River & Declo High Schools received scholarships while at the recent Hispanic Youth Summit at Boise State. They are:

    • Veronica Gomez (RRHS) received $500 from CSI
    • Brian Rios (DHS) received $500 from CSI
    • Xitlalli Ruiz-Nava (DHS) received $2,000 from NNU (renewable each semester)
    • Rodrigo Garcia Newman (DHS) received $2,000 from NNU (renewable each semester)

  • Idaho HS Juniors Needed for NASA Program

    DEADLINE: Nov 13

    Idaho Science and Aerospace Scholars (ISAS) program needs Idaho high school juniors. Application will close November 13, 2017. ISAS is an interactive, online experience highlighted by a seven-day residential summer academy at Boise State University and NASA Ames Research Center. Students will explore science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) concepts, with an emphasis on space exploration, during their online experience with Idaho Digital Learning. Students who are selected to come to Boise State University and NASA Ames Research Center will continue their STEM studies with hands-on team activities while mentored by STEM professionals and Master teachers. ISAS is a great opportunity for Idaho high school juniors. It’s out of this world.

  • Cassia Soccer Teams Head to State

    Hornets & Bobcats Represent

    The Declo Girls and Burley Boys Soccer Teams have qualified for the State Tournament. The Lady Hornets play at Vallivue HS in Caldwell on October 19th at 2:00p. The Bobcat Boys play at Brothers Park in Caldwell on October 19th at 11:00a. More information can be found at the IHSAA Website.

  • Idaho Ed Dept Holiday Card Contest

    Deadline Nov. 13


     The Idaho State Department of Education is now accepting Holiday Card Contest submissions from Idaho students in grades K-6.

    Winning entries from each grade level will be published on the State Department of Education website, and one drawing will be selected for use as the department’s official holiday card. The young artist who submits the winning design will receive cards for personal use. For a look at past winners and contest guidelines, go to

    The deadline for submitting artwork is Monday, Nov. 13. Entries should be mailed to Idaho State Department of Education, Holiday Card Contest, attn.: Jo Ann Bujarski, P.O. Box 83720 Boise 83720-0027.

    Drawings should be on 8.5 x 11-inch paper in a landscape format and must be labeled on the back with the student’s name, grade, district, school, school district and teacher’s name.  Students are encouraged to completely fill the page but keep the design simple, using as many colors as they want. Students may use watercolors, colored paper, magic markers, crayons or a combination of those items.

  • BHS Wrestlers Zombies Fun Run

    The Zombie Apocalypse Begins October 27th!

    Support the BHS wresters and have fun while you do! The wresters are sponsoring a Zombie fun run to be held October 27, 2017 at 6 p.m. at the Skaggs Event Center. Prizes will be given for the best costume.

    Register with Zatelle @ 942 Overland Avenue. Pre-registration cost is $20 if paid by October 23rd. Registration on the day of the event up until 5:30 p.m. is $25. A shirt is included. Contact Coach Harris @ 208-908-1598 or Zatelle @ 208-260-0927 for more information.

  • Congratulations Bobcat Band!

    Performing at Minico HS on Oct 21

    The Burley Bobcat Band has earned first place in the last two US Bands marching band competitions held in Caldwell and Kuna. October 7th at Kuna they earned high score in their division and swept all caption headings. Congratulations to the Color Guard for high score overall (among all divisions) at both events!

    Come watch them!

    • Mountain West Marching Invitational at ISU Saturday, October 14th beginning promptly at 1 p.m.
    • Southern Idaho Band Showcase held at Minico High School, Saturday, October 21st beginning promptly at 12:45 p.m.

    Performances begin promptly and are on a 12 minute schedule. Be sure to leave time for parking and walking to the venue. There will be an admission fee.

    ISPA School Psychologist of the Year

    Cassia School District Psychologist Gary "Bear" Posyluzny was recognized by the Idaho School Psychologists Association as the 2017 School Psychologist of the Year at a recent event at the Grove Hotel in Boise. Congratulations Gary!

  • CRTC assists CCSD

    Info Tech Students Assist Cassia Tech Personnel

    As the school district works to increase it's technology devices to a one-to-one ratio, a need has developed for additional technicians to prepare the hundreds of new Chromebooks for student use. To fill this need, students in the Information Technology class have been assisting district computer technicians Kim Razee and Debbie Sansom to get these computers ready.

  • Cassia Tech Center Students Teach To Learn

    BJHS Students Gain Skills

    On Sept 19th and 20th, students in the Cassia Regional Technical Centers' EMT and CNA programs spent time in the BJHS Health classes providing hands-on CPR training as well as teaching students how to use the AED devices that are now found in most of the buildings in the district.

    Option 3 was the WINNER! And by winner, we mean the School Board approved this option. We heard from nearly 200 patrons and 80% of them favored this option. The Board reveiwed and discussed all the options at their meeting on April 11.

  • Cassia Schools by the Numbers

    If you are interested in knowing just about anything that's a reportable item about our district and particular school, you will love this! Loaded with charts and graphs and percentages you can see where your school fairs when it comes to test scores, proficiency and demographics. It's a super interesting read. It's about 100 pages long, BUT, you should still check it out. The title page will tell where to look for the school(s) you are interested in. Really, it's a great document.
