  • FFA Leadership Conference

    Ms. Mamer and a group of Declo High School FFA students traveled to Pocatello in early February to attend the 212/360 Leadership Conference. This was an opportunity for them to learn leadership skills as well as to network with other FFA officers from around the state.

  • Hoops4Hope Sneaker Drive

    Coach Fox at DHS is organizing a collection campaign for Hoops4Hope and is looking for donations of gently used sneakers to send to Zimbabwe this spring. There will be a collection point at the DHS office and sneakers can be dropped off anytime before March 9th. Cash donations are also welcome and will be used to offset the costs of shipping these donated items.

  • 2017-2018 Winter Sports Academic State Champions

    The Idaho High School Activities Association is pleased to announce the 2017-18 winter sports/activities Academic State Champions. This award is presented to the varsity team in each classification that achieves the highest cumulative grade point average. The IHSAA and its official sponsor, The United Dairymen of Idaho - a partner of Dairy West, congratulate these student-athletes for their outstanding academic achievement and commitment to excellence through athletics.

    Cassia County Schools Recognized are:

    • Boys Basketball, 2A - Declo, 3.693 GPA
    • Boys Basketball, 1AD1 - Raft River, 3.721 GPA
    • Dance, 3A/2A/1A - Declo, 3.793
    • Cheer, 3A/2A/1A - Declo, 3.664

  • Becoming A Love And Logic Parent

    Cassia County School District is offering a course for parents: Becoming A Love And Logic Parent. Classes will be held every Thursday from February 15th to March 22nd at 7:00pm in the White Pine Elementary School Library. The course is free but there is an optional workbook that costs $12.00.

    The Becoming A Love And Logic Parent program was developed by Jim Fay, Charles Fay, Ph.D., and Foster Cline, M.D., of the Love and Logic Institute, Inc., located in Golden, Colorado.

  • Local Business Students Dominate Competition

    45 BHS & DHS Students Heading to State Competition

    Students from all over Southern Idaho attended the Business Professionals of America Regional Competition at Wood River High School on January 24th. Cassia County sent students from Burley, Declo, and Raft River High Schools Students who place in the top two at the district level earn the right to compete at the state competition held at BSU in March. Declo had a total of 20 students place in 11 events, taking top honors in 8 of those events. Burley had a total of 25 students place in 20 events, taking first place in 13 and sweeping 5 of those events.

    The advisors of these programs donate their time and should also be commended for the success of the students. They are Janet Cole and Chancey Knopp at BHS and Jennifer Murdock at DHS. Congratulations to all of you and best wishes at the state competition in March!
