Principal's Pitch

    Dear Declo parents,

We have had such a great start to our school year even in the face of so many construction challenges that I wanted to thank you. Thank you so much for your patience in our parking lot and understanding with our ever changing phone lines, fax line, and bell schedule replacement.

Our ever working builders are still projecting a mid-November completion date for our addition to our elementary. This transition will present some wonderful challenges for our teachers, students, and community. When the time comes we will be calling for assistance!

One big change that has occurred this year is our change in procedure with respect to early morning recess. Students are being prompted to stay outside of the school until they are called in by the first bell. Prompted by some very good questions about this change, I have included some bulleted information bellow.

    • Our Lunch room will always remain unlocked to welcome students to breakfast each morning.
    • Our office front door will always remain unlocked and open, welcoming all students and parent for any reason.
    • Our Kindergarten students will always be welcome and supervised in their classrooms before school.
    • As always, pending inclement weather, students will be brought inside for an inside recess if the weather dictates.
    • Adult supervision is provided on the playground as well as in the lunch room.

We are always looking for ways to make sure our students are properly supervised from the moment they get here in the morning to when they leave. Their safety and education are our top priorities.

Thank you very much for the positive examples you are providing to your children. We witness your goodness in their daily behavior. They are fantastic.

    Kevin Lloyd
